My plugins were free, now they aren’t?

    Hello. I don’t understand why my plugins were free and working when I was first building my site. Now I am asked to pay $300??? I did not sign up for this and saw no information anywhere stating that would be the case. I would like to know what is going on. Thank you.

    What site are you working on?

    Using plugins has never been free on WordPress.com. Ever since we introduced that option in 2017 this feature has only been available on our Business Plan.

    The account you’re using to post here has never owned a Business Plan with us, so has never had the ability to use plugins on any site on WordPress.com.
