My post appeared twice on the Reader, not sure why

    Hello, one of my posts appeared twice on the Reader: ‘Oceanic’

    My site is the http://www.theglitteringsoul.com

    I uploaded it only once, but not sure why it uploaded twice ! I tried to delete one post, but it still shows in the reader… or will it take time to disappear ?

    Can you please fix this, as my followers are getting confused with commenting.. lol

    Please delete the one showing with the least comments.. this is the one I deleted too.

    Hi there,

    Those two posts have two different permalinks, https://theglitteringsoul.com/2020/11/29/oceanic and https://theglitteringsoul.com/2020/11/29/oceanic-2, which means that you published two different posts with the same title on your site itself. So the Reader is just reflecting the information it received from your site’s RSS feed at that point.

    You’ve since deleted that post, and it’s no longer included in your site’s RSS feed, but the Reader doesn’t know that, as it only checks the feed for new posts, and doesn’t check whether any past posts have since changed.

    To remove that post we’ll need to completely delete the Reader feed for your site and then refetch it, but that will only refetch the ten most recent posts, in other words, older posts on your site will no longer be visible in the Reader once we do that.

    Please confirm if you want us to do this.
