My post did not appear on a blog that I commented on

  Can I just ask, as a complete newbie to this site, and this type of site, when you
  leave a comment on someone’s site , then it says your comment is being mediated, if the post doesn’t appear with the rest of the comments, does that mean it’s been deleted? I have to say, it was a very long post. Perhaps that’s the reason why?

  Owners of sites with comments boxes enabled can decide if they want all comments to display immediately on their site or if they want to “mediate/review” them first before deciding to add them to their site (or not). How long this takes depends on how often site owners check their sites/emails. Some people do this constantly. Others may only check once a day/week/month/year.
