My posts are not displaying the way I type them. How do I manage spacing?

I am totally new to website building. I made a post for my team to show them current weekly events I type it out, get each block spaced nicely and when I publish it, it all runs together spacing is gone!

Howdy –
Thanks for writing to us. Could you point me to which post you’re working on: https://chicagospecialhockey.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php
Happy to take a closer look at things.

“Coming up this week” section
also do you recommend any specific YouTube videos for learning this system?

Thanks for that! Could you also clarify what spacing you were looking for and what you got instead? I noticed in the editor for that post that you had added a lot of blocks with zero content – were those the spaces you were trying to add? On the published post, I do see spaces between the colored blocks:

We have an entire YouTube channel where we post videos!
We also host some webinars that you might be interested in as well and they’re also free. The webinars for “Compelling Homepages” and “Custom Blog Pages” that are upcoming might be of interest!
I hope that helps!

I am referring to the spacing inside the blue, purple, red and green blocks. I will do it here also to see what happens. Spacing between blocks is what I wanted.
LINE 1 should say: Sunday, Gurnee, Top Shelf Hockey… at this point I want a new line… LINE 2 should say: 10:00-1100am Hockey Practice… at this point I want a third line. LINE 3 should say: Please arrive 30mins prior to practice start time for stretching and warm-ups. I am unfamiliar with how the system/block logic works. I have been typing the what I want then using the space bar to get the line to move down so I do not create a new block. Am I supposed to use a new block for each?
Thank you for your help.

So I understand correctly, you’re intending that each of these three lines should be within the same green background? If so, then I would possibly suggest using Group blocks with the background colour applied. Here’s roughly what the result of that would be:

In this screenshot I have used two Group blocks and given them background colours. I placed three regular Paragraph blocks(one line each) within the green Group block, and one Heading block and two Paragraph blocks in the blue Group block. I also increased the margin setting on the blue Group block to force it to be further away from the green Group block.
You can view the video showing how I did this:
Useful guides:

I definitely recommend the YouTube channel and our webinars, but we do also have a general written overview for working with blocks here:
