My posts are not showing up in Reader

Hi,
I’ve noticed that my last 4 or 5 posts haven’t shown up on Reader (I subscribe to my own blog and in the past my post showed up straight away. It no longer shows up).
Does anyone have an idea of what the problem may be? I have less than 15 categories and tags for each post.
Please let me know if you know what the problem might be, or what you think I need to check.

Hi there,
I am having the same issue, I have under 15 tags and categories it’s a food blog and there is no ‘mature’ content. My previous posts have always shown up. I have checked all the relevant topics in the support section and haven’t been able to find any other answers. It does state that sometimes new blogs may not show up but I have been blogging for a couple of months. My notification emails went out to my followers.

Check your blog time zone settings on the Settings->General page. Also, realize that blogs that are started on Monday but not posted till Thursday show up as having been published on Monday. That could be what’s causing the confusion; the posts are there, but farther back than you expect. The way around this is to save drafts as always, but just before you publish, click the little calendar icon to change the datestamp of the post to right now.

It must be that, as I started the draft a few days ago, next time I will check the date stamp before I post. Thanks for helping this newbie blogger. I just read a few of your blog posts and you are a crack up. We ain’t got bears or cougars (!!) but we do have 6 foot deadly poisonous black snakes that roam through our backyard. Cheers.

Super! I can still one-up that. Somebody on the property is shooting off a rifle. I didn’t even know there was a gun on the property! Suddenly the 1/4 mile walk to the cabin is looking less fun.

Ummm….you win, we like to think that gun control laws here are strict, (keep in mind that we are urban/verging on bush and not fully Aussie rural where guns reign supreme). I crap myself if I hear a car backfire….travel that 1/4 mile vigilantly and with eyes in the back of your head wide open….

Thanks for the replies. I started the draft on my most recent post about 30 minutes before I posted it. I went back in my reader and still couldn’t find it anywhere. I can see it under the tag search, but just seems odd I can see it in the reader where it usually has shown up immediately. Any other thoughts?

Hi again – just adding to this post as i’m still having the same problem. I just posted a new blog post and it didn’t show up on my reader (i’m following myself). I’ve checked with a couple of my followers and they don’t see it on their reader either – does anyone have any thoughts on why this may be? Thanks!

Hi, I feel your pain. I added a post on Monday and it never showed up in the reader. I subscribe to my own blog and didn’t see it neither did friends who subscribe. Did you ever get any suggestions on this?

I just posted yesterday, this time it showed up in the reader immediately. I started and finished the post all in the one day. I thought that may have been why my last post showed up in the reader but a day or so ‘back in time.’ (As raincoaster suggested, if you start a post and then don’t actually post it until a week or so later, it may have the wrong date on it).
You might need to contact a tecchy at WordPress to ask them? -

Thanks for the comment cheergerm – I started today’s post today and posted it within about 20 mins of starting it. Unfortunately it still didn’t show up for me on Reader. Would love the help of WordPress staff though i’m not sure how to get it – the support page leads me back to posting on here. I’m hoping they are able to chime in here because I don’t know how else to contact them.

I think I covered this before: If you start a post on one particular day, then publish it later, it shows up in the reader and tag pages as if it had been published on the first day. So nobody sees it, but it is there, just waaaay back. So, before you publish a post, set it to today’s date.

@raincoaster – yes i saw that advice before. Thanks. As I noted above I’m not seeing items in my Reader that I started the draft for 30 mins before publishing (ie start draft and publish within 30 mins with current date). So, unfortunately I don’t believe that’s my issue.
