My posts don't show up in the reader

I have a self-hosted blog and follow myself to make sure that my posts are published correctly. Today I’ve published two posts and both didn’t show up in the reader.
I already checked the forum but didn’t find anything helpful, though there have been similar cases that were resolved with the help of a happiness engineer.
I use less than 15 tags and categories and my blog is visible/in the index for search engines.

Your self-hosted wordpress.ORG software install is not a part of the wordpress.COM hosted blogging community. Only posts on blogs hosted by WordPress.com will automatically appear on the Topics (categories and tags) pages.

I don’t mean the categories and tags pages though but the “Followed Sites” in the Reader. During the last couple of weeks (while already being self-hosted) my posts did appear there so I doubt that is the issue..

It is found there and when I click on it, all posts aside those from today appear so I wonder why it’s not actualizing anymore.
It has happened before around three weeks ago and I randomly drafted and re-published that post until it eventually it worked but my readers got several emails so I don’t want to do it again, there has to be another way?

There’s probably a caching delay. I would not delete a published post and create a broken link (404 page not found) in the SERPS (search engines page results). https://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2011/08/05/avoid-creating-404-pages/ I would wait.

I’ve had a caching delay also for 2 new posts. Others can see it, but it doesn’t come up in my reader. This started Oct. 19. There is also something wrong with my notifications of likes and comments. The bell lights up with the orange dot, but nothing has posted. There was a delay of more than 24 hours for some comments and others I haven’t even received. So many likes are missing. Why now? What do I do to fix it? Thanks!
