My Posts Have Been Deleted
-
I contacted you guys a few weeks ago regarding my posts being deleted. Your answer was not very helpful and doesnt seem to appear in a way that i can retrieve it if I get offline. I need the posts that were deleted. How do I retrieve them? I only intended to edit the posts and temporarily remove them from viewers. That is my work and its very important to me. You should notify us before deleting things and make it clearer that it will be deleted automatically after 30 days. How do I get my posts back?

Hi Brittany –
The trash bin is emptied automatically about every 30 days. If you ever have content that you’d like to hold on to, then you want to
revert to draftrather than place it in the trash bin.Drafts do not undergo the same automatic clean up.
Can you tell me the post titles that were affected? I am happy to take a look and see if I can find anything.

Honestly I dont know the posts titles off top. It was about 9 years worth of blogs so it was a lot. They are already gone from the trash bin. I wasnt aware they get deleted after 30 days since they were still there I thought I had time to edit them and post them again. I’m disappointed that w technology today this would be an issue. Dont know what to do.

We’re really sorry to hear that. But just like with real life trash bins at an office or whatever, they do get emptied periodically. Trash bins are not a safe place to keep things for later on our system and on many others. And since you deleted all of your things several months ago, we really have no way to retrieve them at this point.
If you followed your own site by email, you might be able to find the post content there, if you kept all of those emails.
Or, you might be able to find your content at web.archive.org.

Or, you might be able to find your content at web.archive.org.
Have you checked through the Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://letmeseethelight.wordpress.com/

I noticed the site was there, but the articles I clicked on had not been archived :(
Google Cache may have something though, too, if you can find the posts by name there.
It’s a really tough bet though when the articles have been gone for that long.

I see what you mean. But the site seems to have been more completely archived up to 2016: https://web.archive.org/web/20160220012731/https://letmeseethelight.wordpress.com/

I didnt put it there for that reason. I put it there because using the website on my phone wasnt so user friendly and wouldnt allow me to do that. By the way, a trash bin in an office is markedly different than technology. I think we all know that. There are several platforms that keep things in the trash bin so to speak until you permanently delete them unless you have your settings adjusted otherwise. Major platforms like Google who obviously seem to get the importance of retrieval as an option for this microwave society we live in.
Thanks!
