My Posts keep disappearing!
-
When I set my blog up I had static page clicked by accident. I don’t use a static page. But now if that gets unclicked, all my recent posts disappear.
Occasionally it just randomly changes it to the recent posts option and my recent posts disappear and I freak out a little bit til I remember that all I have to do is change that option.
Is there a way to fix this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The site shouldn’t change how it displays your posts on it’s own.
If it happens again, could you let me know what you were doing on the site right before it changed?
Thanks!

Obviously, that’s why I wanted to know if there was a way to change it. I was just posting a new post last time it happened.

When you say static page, do you mean that sometimes you see individual post-pages like this one:
and from there it looks like the rest of your site disappeared?
If so, that’s nothing to worry about. Each of your posts has to have a page like that so you can send people to individual recipes and they can leave comments, etc.
You and your visitors can always get back to the normal view of your site by clicking “Home”
Does that help?

No. After I hit publish, it gives me an option to view the post. So I do and the post is there. Just as you eluded to above. But then if I were to click on home…the post I had just published wouldn’t be the first post I’d see. The new post wouldn’t show up. If you went to posts in the dashboard, it’s there but it doesn’t show up on the home page.
Just on a hunch I went and checked that setting because I remembered checking that box at one point before I actually purchased the theme. I just have forgot to unchecked it before I started posting to the blog.

The static page setting, I mean…. it was checked but it was set to static page and recent posts.

I believe I’ve been able to fix this.
The problem was your most recent posts included the tag for your featured content page “thm” but because the way your theme is set up, your featured content area doesn’t show, so the posts were missing from your home page.
I removed the featured content tag under “Featured Content” in your Customizer view and now all the posts are showing again.
Let me know if you need anything else!

Okay…. can you tell me why it says undefined abobe the website address above the post title when I am composing a post (when I push save draft or publish). It says undefined above the blog address….

If Musicdoc1’s suggestion doesn’t solve this for you, could you make a screen shot so I can see what you mean? Here are the instructions for how to do that.
Just save the image in your media library and let me know when it’s there.
I can take a look and let you know what’s up.

That was indeed the problem…I d it didn’t have a title in there because my logo had the title in it. I just put the title in because I don’t want it to say undefined. :) As far as the posts go….will I be good now??
