My posts keep losing their paragraph breaks

For some reason, when I go into my old articles, the paragraph breaks will go missing. It doesn’t happen with all my posts, but it happens with a lot of them. I spent a good couple of hours today adding them back into posts ranging in age from when the blog first started, to a month ago. I would much rather have spent the time studying or watching lectures.
The post will appear fine when I look at it on my site, but then I’ll click “edit” and the paragraph lines will be gone. I’ve added the paragraph breaks back into most of my old articles, but I left this one in its paragraph-break-removed form so you could see:

A friend had a look at that article and had this to say:
“Tell them instead of wrapping each paragraph in paragraph tags (<p></p>), it’s stuffing everything into just one paragraph tag.”
Any idea why it’s doing this and what I can do to prevent it from happening?

Just wondering if there’s any update on this? I recently got rid of a domain name and need to redo a bunch of links on my site, but I don’t want to have to add the paragraph breaks all over again because it would be a monumental waste of time.
I’ve just tried to make some changes in an article 2 months old and when I went into the editor all the paragraph breaks were gone.
