my presentation illustratr theme doesn't look like the demo
-
I put on the illustratr theme but my presentation page ( home) does not look like the presentation page in the demo with a portfolio page; it just show up my latest posts
What can I do?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The Illustratr demo has a static homepage with the Portfolio Page template applied to it. Looks like you’ve switched to another theme, but if you want to give Illustratr another go, those would be the first setup steps. The full guide to setting up Illustratr is here:
https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/illustratr/
If you scroll down to the “Portfolio Page Template” section there are detailed steps for getting your homepage to look like the demo.
Just let me know if you have any other questions.

I’ve already done the steps of the portfolio page template but I don’t get what I have to do in the first step when it saids “create or edit a page” What am I supposed to put in this page ?

You have two choices on any blog
(1) All posts on the front page.
(2) A static front page and posts on a different page.By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors who will not be happy to have to click through an About page every time they visit your blog as they come to read your most recently published content. Creating that situation can make some visitors annoyed – so annoyed that they stop following your blog.
However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for all published posts (not pages) to display on in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top.
To do that create two pages first http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change for each of the two page and click “save changes”.
A static page (select below)
Front page:

I don’t know if it’s possible but what I’d like to have is that my homepage is a portfolio page with all the header images of my latest published posts and by clicking on an image it will directly redirect you to the post in question. I thought with the Illustratr theme it would be possible but maybe it doesn’t.
-
fifolait – Illustratr can display portfolio projects on the front page, with links to each portfolio project. It doesn’t do that with posts, though, just portfolio projects. Does this help clarify things?
-
You might want to take another look at a grid-based theme that displays posts on the homepage, like Pictorico or Cubic.
-
ah ok, I get it now it’s just not the theme I was expected. Thank you both for your help, it’s always better to speak on forums about issues like that to get more understood.

Excuse me to bother you again but do you know wether the Ubud theme fits for what I’d like to do or it’s just a portfolio theme too ? because it’s a premium theme and when I try it on it doesn’t look like the demo too and I don’t want to spend money if I’m not sure to have what i want
-
Ubud does display posts in a grid so it might suit what you’re looking for: https://ubuddemo.wordpress.com/
It might look different in a preview if you don’t yet have a featured image set for each of your posts. Premium themes have a 30-day refund period, so if it ends up not suiting your needs you could always try something else. :)
-
oh ok i didn’t know about the 30-day, i will try it then
thank you so much for giving me a bit of your time. :) -
