My professional website was hacked and changed to a fraudulent sales site.

My professional website was hacked and changed to another sales site. The URL now links to this fraudulent site, instead of my professional site. The host site that is coming up is a company in Malaysia, ‘Mat Bao Co.’. I’m trying to determine how this company gained access to my domain and what I can do to get it back. I am currently also waiting on information from a GoDaddy domain broker to see if they can help. I have already talked to the GoDaddy tech support and they have suggested that I contact Word Press for assistance.

I don’t see any WordPress.com sites under your account here.
What is the URL of the site with the problem?
NOTE: We can only assist with websites hosted here at WordPress.com. If you’re using the WordPress software, but hosted elsewhere, you will need to reach out to your hosting provider or the WordPress.org community for guidance: https://wordpress.org/support/

Thanks for the reply macmanx.
The site is http://www.jensenlorenenzen.com. It has been my professional site since I created it in 2014.
I did not think it was hosted by WordPress either, but I went back in my emails to find who I hosted the site with and have a message from WordPress saying my site is about to expire. So now I wondering if it ever was hosted on WordPress and if so, if it’s possible to recover.

I don’t see that address you posted above but there is a .com address called jensenlorenzen that was registered in september of this year. If you let your domain expire prior to september then someone else has now purchased it. Your only hope of recovering it is in the long term if the domain isn’t renewed by the others next year.

That information is public – you can search for the domain
jensenlorenzen.comhere:https://lookup.icann.org/lookup
Per that site, the current expiration date is 2022-09-22.
Your site can still be seen at https://gracelorenzen.wordpress.com/ – but unless you’re able to recover your domain, you will need to choose another domain or use your WordPress.com domain in the meantime.
Good luck!
