My profile no appears on my site’s front page
-
Hello.
I’m using the Twenty Sixteen theme.
Whenever I’d open my WordPress site via Google, my profile would automatically appear on the front page.
Now it no longer appears.
How do I restore it ?
I don’t want it to appear only on Gravatar.WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Asim, what is the link to your profile page? I can have a look if you wish. Kind Regards
-
Here is the link to my Profile page :
I am Ms. Charito.
Here’s the link to my front page :
https://asimoveon673374429.wordpress.com/author/asimoveon0828/
My profile is no longer seen on the front page. It just says “Author …” but the profile is gone. I want it to appear like before.
-
It won’t appear on an author archive page like that, but it will appear below your posts, like https://asimoveon673374429.wordpress.com/2021/10/01/remembering-the-miracle-of-our-lady-of-fatima/
-
Yes, I know it appears below each of my posts.
But before – even when I’m logged out – and I would search my name on Google and visit my site – my profile that reads “Author: Charito Maranan-Montecillo … whatever comes straight from my heart.” would appear right below my large photo.
But now, it appears as “Author :”; and it looks awkward on the page.
I’d like to see my profile again – right below my large photo – even when I’m logged out – and I’d Google my name and visit my site.
To me, my profile serves as my byline which the reader could immediately view before checking out my posts.
Now, my profile appears as Gravatar.
What should I do to make it reappear on my WordPress site – right below my large photo – even when I’m logged out ?
-
Hi there,
Has this happened recently? Because the theme you’re using isn’t designed to display a Gravatar in that place. I see that almost a year ago you switched to the Twenty Sixteen theme and that probably your previous theme had that design feature.

Hello, too.
Yes, this concern of mine happened only a day ago (November 2 from my part of the world).
When I’m logged out of WordPress, this is how my site would look whenever I would search on Google my name (“charito maranan-montecillo”) and open the link to my site.
This is what used to appear when I would click “View all posts by Charito Maranan-Montecillo” (the link which comes with my profile located at the bottom of every post) :
https://asimoveon673374429.wordpress.com/author/asimoveon0828/
I’m referring to … like the author page. Not the archive page.
Also, I haven’t switched themes since I signed up last year.
By the way, thank you very much, Maz, James Huff, and Fotis for helping me out. Sorry for troubling you all.

Hello again, Maz, James Huff, and Fotis.
Could I kindly ask you this favor :
Try logging out of WordPress and Google my name “charito maranan montecillo”.
Click “Author: Charito Maranan-Montecillo – As I Move On”.
When my site opens, you’ll see only the word “Author:” below my large picture. It does look out of place.
Whereas before, my whole profile would appear this way : “Author :Charito Maranan-Montecillo … or whatever comes straight from my heart.”
Thank you again.

Hello there!
It is possible to do this, however, it would require some CSS to show that.
CSS can be found on the premium plan.
https://wordpress.com/pricing/
I hope this helps.

Oh, thank you so much for your suggestion, Adam.
But for now, I’m not interested to upgrade my plan.-Ms. Charito

Hello again.
Could I make another request from anyone from the staff ?
You see, the word “Author :” appears above the title of my latest post whenever I click “View all posts by Charito Maranan-Montecillo”. This happens when I view my site outside WordPress.
And it looks out of place there.
Do you think you could just remove that word ?
Is this possible ?
Thank you again.

Ms. Charito,
Hi. I’ve been following this thread with interest for a couple of days.
Click “Author: Charito Maranan-Montecillo – As I Move On”.
When my site opens, you’ll see only the word “Author:” below my large picture. It does look out of place.
That link in Google search results goes to your author archive page, and that page does have the text you ask for. See here: https://asimoveon673374429.wordpress.com/author/asimoveon0828/.
-
It’s not a link to the homepage at all, and never was, it’s a link to the author archive page.

Hello, musicdoc1.
Thank you very much for reaching out to me.
With regards to this link :
https://asimoveon673374429.wordpress.com/author/asimoveon0828/
I do see the text only when I’m logged into WordPress.
But once I log out of WordPress, and click the above link to the author archive page, the text is no longer there. I see only the word “Author :”
Well, maybe I’ll just leave it that way for now. Besides, I plan to add a new page – “About Me” – to my site.
Many thanks again for reaching out to me – Maz, James Huff, Fotis, Adam, and musicdoc1.
I appreciate hearing from all of you.

Hello Ms. Charito,
But once I log out of WordPress, and click the above link to the author archive page, the text is no longer there. I see only the word “Author :”
We’ve taken a look at this and can see that this actually a bug – and in contrary to what I mentioned earlier, you wouldn’t need CSS for this, nor would CSS solve this issue.
We have an internal issue open related to this problem, so it’s on our radar to fix.
I hope this helps.
-
Glad to assist : )
But once I log out of WordPress, and click the above link to the author archive page, the text is no longer there. I see only the word “Author :”
I hadn’t tested while logged out previously, but have now done so and obtained the same result on your author archive page. The profile section contains only the word “Author,” with the “About me” text missing. However, on a test site of mine with Twenty Sixteen applied the full profile appears, so it would seem that something is preventing the “About me” text from being displayed in some cases on your site.
-
Oh, that’s great to hear, Adam !
Yes, that’s what I’ve been thinking all along – that there’s a bug.
Thank you for finally understanding my concern.
I sure hope the bug would be fixed soon.
And thank you, too, musicdoc1, for showing much concern.

We don’t have an estimate, but our developers are working on it. Once it’s fixed we’ll update you here on this thread.
