Why can’t I get a picture to appear in the round profile picture???

A wordpress.com account and a gravatar account are one in the same thing. Read all about that here: Why Does Gravatar Say I Already Have an Account? http://en.gravatar.com/support/existing-account/
You can use one gravatar image for each username account. It will apply to all sites referred under the same username account. And, the Gravatar help link is http://en.gravatar.com/support/

Gravatar/blavatar (favicon) images do not show up instantly after uploading them. Gravatar images are cached and frequently take several days to display after a change. The accepted file types are:
.jpg/.jpeg
.gif

Dashboard → Settings → General
* Replace “http://INSERT_NAME_OF_BLOG” below with the actual name of your blog in the URL

Do not keep uploading!
Do not forget to select an image rating.

I checked your account and you have a Gravatar image associated with a second email address you have, not the one you use for your WordPress.com account, that’s why it hasn’t showed yet.
You can set the same image to all your email addresses. Once you log into Gravatar site, you’ll be able to pick an email address. The background will become blue indicating it is selected. Then under Pick new image, you’ll be able to select from the images you have already uploaded to your account or add a new image.Also how can I get the information I wrote about me to apply in the front page of the blog.
You can do that by adding a Gravatar Profile widget to your site’s sidebar:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/gravatar-profile-widget/The widget will appear at all pages of your site, if you just want it to appear at the front page you can control its visibility. The support page above explains how.
