My published post got sent in Email subscription, BUT………..

I am asking this question to confirm a suspicion I just now got: When people subscribe to your/my blog via email subscriptions, do they get the very first publication of it?I suspect yes, because after I wrote and published my post, I edited and republished it. Yet a few minutes ago my other email politics group (not a blog group) got the FIRST published post in the old wording and not the latest published form with the revised wording. (A member of that politics group subscribes to my blog and sometimes sends my posts to our group.)
Although it is not a big problem since I didn’t say anything that I would not want in a N.Y. Times headline, the revised edited, second publication as it now exists expresses my thoughts more precisely. (I now know to wait before publishing to make sure the post is exactly the way I want it to be.)
But just to check for sure: Is it true that the very first published form of a post is the form that is sent out in email subscription? Or is there a time lag that allows the blogger poster to edit?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, they get the first version. ALWAYS. That is one reason why the Draft function exists, so you can save it and edit it.
The same is true of RSS subscriptions.

Raincoaster, thanks. I usually use the Draft function when I am not finished with the post, but I might just start to automatically hit Safe Draft and give my head some time to think about changes even when I think the post is ready to publish.
:-) Of course, my head is always thinking of a better way to say it.

Wow… it now occurs to me that maybe I should just not put up the “SUBSCRIBE BY EMAIL” widget. That way I can edit and there’s no harm done….. or at least not to email subscriptions. I also see what those email subscription posts look like: A bit odd, not as well formatted as in a blog.
I realize that the RSS FEEDS are another story, but I’ll never take that off my blog.

Another possibility just struck me: In the email subscriptions, would it be possible to have only a few sentences of the article be printed into the email, with a link to the article in the blog, thus forcing the reader to go to the blog?

Have you checked the support documentation to see if that option is available to you? I can’t see anything there that indicates that it is http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/blog-subscription-widget/

However you can set your RSS feds to “summary” rather than “full” here > Dashboard > Settings > Reading

Timethief….. yes I did earlier check “summary” for the RSS feeds but I never found anything for email subscriptions, so yesterday I deleted the Email subscription widget from my Sidebar.
