My published post went POOF! Need help recovering it.

Hoping someone can help.
I published an article on my wordpress.com site in February 2020 and after going back to update it, I can’t find it anywhere! I didn’t trash it or unpublish it (even though we can still recover posts) so I’m really upset and confused that I can’t find it anywhere.
The photos/videos I used for the post are still in my Media folder but the article itself is completely gone!
It’s disconcerting that something like that can happen!
Someone please help.

The title of the post is:
Sudbury Sizzle: How to spend an epic winter weekend in Canada’s Nickel City.

That particular post was moved to the Trash on July 17, and purged from the Trash on August 17.
There is no cached version of it at https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://travelmammal.wordpress.com/2020/02/02/sudbury-sizzle-how-to-spend-an-epic-winter-weekend-in-canadas-nickel-city/ so unfortunately it’s gone for good.

There is absolutely no way I deleted that article. It was a commissioned piece and deleting it was never an option. I would NEVER delete that piece.
Who else would have access and in turn delete it? -
It was deleted by your account, so if you did not delete it, it was deleted by someone with access to your account.
If that is the case, I recommend changing your password immediately at https://wordpress.com/me/security
Make sure you use a strong password https://wordpress.com/support/security/#strong-password and set up two-step authentication too: https://wordpress.com/support/security/two-step-authentication/
Also, if you ever use any public computers, make sure that you sign out of WordPress.com before leaving.

I have articles in my trash dating back years.. And they’re still in the trash. That’s the only article I’m missing. I find it very odd that if someone with access would delete posts, that the Sudbury article would be the one they picked to delete. I doubt that that’s the reason.

We have detailed logs, and it was definitely your account which both trashed the post and purged it.
There were also 3 others trashed and purged at the same time as this:

drink-the-world-from-home-10-ethnic-summer-concoctions-that-give-you-that-travel-feeling
qa-with-steve-kriaris-humbly-embodying-the-soul-and-spirit-of-the-greek-experience-in-canada
All 4 were trashed July 17 and purged August 17.
We cannot reveal the IP addresses here, but both IP addresses which trashed and purged the posts belong to Bell Canada and are from the area of Milton, Ontario, Canada. Again, both logged under your account.
