My Reader

Help, my reader is empty when I go to look at it. I follow 24 blogs and even if nobody posted today I would see the old posts. Is this part of the attack that took place? Is my site compromised?

Hi there. The recent WordPress hack only affected self-hosted sites. On WordPress.com we’re on an entirely different system, so it’s highly unlikely that your site was compromised. In any case, even if it were, it won’t affect what you’ll see in the Reader.
This is most likely just a problem with your browser. Please try clearing your browser cache and cookies and see if that resolves the problem: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
Also check whether you can see the Reader if you use a different browser, and try resetting your modem/router in case this is a connection issue.

Both in Chrome Version 45.0.2454.93 m and FF 40.0.3 on Win7Pro
Only placeholders for two posts loads. (screenshots)

It seems to load at first in both browsers and then “drops” to two placeholders.
Perhaps I overlooked the addition earlier, but there is now a cog to directly access Reader settings next to “Followed Sites” in the Admin bar dropdown.

The Reader loads fine for me, so it’s not a global problem, it seems.I also don’t recall the settings link in the drop-down, so perhaps a recent update going a bit haywire.

Strange, I added a new blog to follow and my reader re appeared. Strange. One of the blogs I follow is “invisible” for the moment but the others are there. I did not have to clear history. Thank you for answering!

And I tried again just now in Chrome. Followed sites behaves the same as yesterday. It seems to load at first and then drops to 2 blank posts that pulse, but no actual posts load in the Reader.
No ad blockers, 3rd party cookies allowed, no change in Win7Pro configuration, so I guess I’ll just wait around for Staff to show up.

OK-I guess I’ll just tinker and see if I can figure out what’s wrong.

I follow a combination of both WPcom and WP/jetpack sites in my Reader. All the com sites have the green Follow check mark in the title bar when I open them individually, but none of the WP/Jetpack sites do (in spite of previously confirming my subscription). In the title bar of the WP/Jetpack sites there is the word “Follow” preceded by the circle/plus sign. When I click on the circle/plus sign it tries to change to Follow, but falls back to the circle/plus sign.
All Followed sites’ posts are viewable when I open each subscription individually in the Reader.
I’ve removed all my WP/Jetpack subscriptions. No change. The Reader does not load any posts.
Following what @downcastmysoul said, I refollowed a WP/Jetpack RSS subscription and although the circle/plus in the titlebar now shows as a green Follow checkmark, no change. Still nothing in the Reader.
Maybe more later. That’s all the time I have right now.

I’ll see if I can find any other reports on my end. But aside from this thread, I’m not seeing any.

I don’t know what happened between this morning (my time) when I posted above and now (my time), but the Reader is loading normally.
However, in my one remaining WP/Jetpack subscription, the green Follow check has reverted to the circle/plus sign.
