My "recent posts" listing has gone!

  My “recent posts” listing which sat in the middle column of the three column home page (RH column, the post, middle column the recent posts, LH column widgets) of my blog has disappeared.
  This was the first post I added an image to. I am happy not to use any images ever if it makes this problem go away!
  Can anyone help?
  (in the meatime I have added as a widget on RHS but not ideal)

  Do you mean the entire column has disappeared? Is it on your Widgets page?
