My Shop Website
-
Good Afternoon,
I currently have a website hosted by wix.com, but looking to move to another provider – ie. WordPress.com.
Is there a way I can transfer the layout & content from http://www.rs13uk.com to your hosting company?
Also want to know if I can set up an online shop that allows money to be taken (I currently use SumUp for card payments over the phone and in the shop). Wix.com do offer the service, but I was under the impression that it was part of my package, but was notified upon my query that I would have to pay extra for it.
I’ve also seen that the domain http://www.redstar13.co.uk is now available and therefore I want to add this to my package (whilst still pointing to http://www.rs13uk.com) – can this be done by yourselves?
Finally I don’t want this package to under this account of mine, but a separate one using the name RED STAR 13.
Thanks for your time, James

We can move the content https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-wix/ but not the design. The good news is though that we have several themes to choose from: https://wordpress.com/themes
For setting up a shop, we do have an option for that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/store/
And, for adding a domain, we have a few options: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#add-a-domain-name

Thank you for the reply.
Looking at the information provided I cannot set up a store :
“To use Store on WP.com, you will need to be located in Canada or the United States, be on a WordPress.com Business plan, and have previously installed a custom plugin or theme.”
I’m based in the UK, how do I get an online store?
BTW, there is no costings on the site for what I need – where do I go for this and compare prices, etc?
Many thanks, James

Hi James,
no worries, you can still set up an online store, even if you’re not based in the US or Canada. You will want to use a plugin, like WooCommerce. Installing plugins is available on plans Business en eCommerce. In fact, the eCommerce plan comes with WooCommerce already preinstalled, together with some additional extensions.
You can read more about both plans here:And you can compare prices from here:
https://wordpress.com/pricing/
Please bear in mind that all subscriptions are charged yearly or biyearly.
Let me know if you have any more questions regarding that.
