My Sidebars reverted back to default, banner gone
-
Hi,
I suddenly lost all of my sidebar art and my custom banner. The blog has completely reverted back to the default sidebars and blank blue top banner. It just suddenly seemed to happen out of the blue. Any ideas? -
Without a link to your blog, so I can see the issue myself, I have absolutely no idea.

oh sorry
http://uppitywoman08.wordpress.com. It just looks plain vanilla again. All posts, comments etc are intact. But my custom banner and all sidebar art is gone.

Try going to design > widgets and clicking on “save changes” and see if they come back. I’ve heard that in some cases that has worked.

Have you seen this happen before? Maybe just a glitch? Should I wait a bit or should I just add my banner back and widgets? WHat do you think?
-
I’m not sure if it’s the same problem, but my blogroll has disappeared and my tag cloud is gone…

@romi41
please direct your issue over at this sticky post.
Blogroll and Tag Cloud have Vanished from Homepage
Thanks

There have been sidebar issues reported recently and I’ve had emails from several people who change themes and had their widgets not show up after. Clicking on the “save changes” button brought them back in those cases. Obviously not in this case however.
I would suggest contacting staff. http://wordpress.com/contact-support/

Yes I already contacted support before I stopped by here. I just think it’s a glitch. Nobody died, though. LOL. I can always put the stuff back. But I’ll wait till I here from them. I’ve seen similar things happen so it could just be some server thang.

You’re welcome. One thing I did when the big change hit was to open all my text widgets and copy everything out and into a plain text file and save it on my computer. That way if things go “poof” (which is always possible) I can paste the information back in and be back up and running quickly.

I’m wondering if there getting us ready for 2.7 because I saw in the recent
post that they’ll talk about it soon plus wordpress has been acting quit wonky

Expect to see a lot more videos soon as we build towards an exciting (for me at least) new addition to the WordPress family, due at about the same time you see 2.7 hit the digital shelves. More on that soon.

We’ve already seen some 2.7 stuff here such as the sticky posts, and I’m pretty sure the changes at manage > media are also 2.7 changes. 2.7 still doesn’t have a published release date, but I expect it will be November before it is out. Of course, November is just speculation on my part.

That’s a good idea. If it’s not a server glitch and I have to put all my widgets back, I will make a text copy of the code, just in case something like this happens again. -
Have you contacted staff? There’s a chance they can set things right, or at least root out the cause and prevent it from happening again.
