  When I search for it, it says it oops. Did I miss a step?

  An “oops” message on the front of a WordPress.com site either means you haven’t published the page you wish to display to visitors or you need to set the correct front page at Design/Customize/Homepage settings. (Most people choose the Blog page so visitors see regular changing content as you add posts to your site).
