  I paid someone to design my website. He built it using WordPress. He did not share any of the login information with me and then he abandoned the work. I cannot access my site and it is incomplete. Please help me. I have no documentation for proof of ownership and the recovery form requires it.

  There are 2 versions of WordPress. What we do at WordPress.com is a tad different from the installation of WordPress used on a self hosted site like yours. This guide outlines the differences: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
