Hello –
No worries. I’ll be glad to help you straighten this out. The problem here is that the site you want to work on belongs to a different user account. Each user account on WordPress.com requires a unique email address – try signing in with the other email addresses you have used in the past. We can send a note to that email address to help you locate it as well if the account recovery form won’t help:
At some point, you may run into a situation in which you’ve lost access to your account. Hi @staff-zinnia , thanks for your reply, but no, that’s not it. I have two user accounts, each one with an email address, and each one with two sites. I’ve switched between these easily for ten years until now. Now Each user account only has ONE site accessible. If you’re staff, perhaps you can take a look at this for me?
Thanks, Jim

Hi again @staff-zinnia. So let me try and explain a different way:
I have only ever had two email addresses (well, for the last 20 years). These are (email visible only to moderators and staff) and (email visible only to moderators and staff).
The first gave me access to the account architectureinberlin.wordpress.com. Now neither of these do – so where has it gone? The site is still live, but I can’t access it. If WordPress can’t resolve this, I need to delete the site and start over somewhere else (Blogspot?). But how can I do that. if no access?
Many thanks,
Jim

…and while writing, I notice that when I tried to edit my comments here, I clicked on the cog for edit, but editing’s not allowed. Perhaps WordPress can look at this? Thx
-
Hi! It is definitely another account, but it looks like you’re maybe using an alias of one of those email addresses. Gmail comes with googlemail, for example, so you could try logging in with that.
And thanks for the heads up on the cog icon. Only staff and moderators can edit posts here. The cog is supposed to show more block options when you’re replying, but most blocks we use here in the forums really don’t have many options.
