That site is not hosted by wordpress.COM. Our support docs do not apply and we do not provide support for it.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As you are referring to a wordpress.ORG software install on paid hosting, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

If you are attempting to set up domain mapping here at wordpress.COM read on, please.
Although andersoni.com has been registered, it is not using WordPress.com nameservers. If your domain is mapped to a self-hosted site, then your configuration may be fine as currently set up. If you wish to host your site at WordPress.com, you will need to update your nameservers as outlined below.
We require that your name server configuration include only the following servers or their numeric equivalents:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMYour name servers are as follows:
NS41.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
NS42.DOMAINCONTROL.COMIf you have access to change the nameservers for this domain, please remove all nameservers not on the required list above.
To learn about how to correctly map an existing domain, please see our documentation. https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/#instructions-for-mapping-an-existing-domain

timethief thanks for your help. I know exactly what the problem is but don’t know how to fix it. You are right, my original site was andersoninteractivemarcom.com — purchased/created through WordPress.com. I then purchased andersoni.com and for 2 years have been routing traffic to andersoni.com.
Back in late November, I stupidly cancelled andersoninteractivemarcom.com.
Did I lose my site forever? (not a huge loss) but ideally I could get that back up. Thoughts on how to do that or do I need to start from scratch? -
I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. Your WordPress.com site was http://andersoninteractivemarcom.wordpress.com/. At one point, it had andersoninteractivemarcom.com as a custom domain name, but that expired in Nov 2015. It also has Domain Mapping setup for andersoni.com. However, andersoni.com does not have WordPress.com nameservers and instead is pointing to a GoDaddy hosted WordPress.org site.
So, I’m not completely sure what you are asking. Your WordPress.com site content was not deleted when you lost the andersoninteractivemarcom.com domain. That is why all WordPress.com sites have a permanent _____.wordpress.com URL. So that custom domains can come and go, if necessary, without losing the underlying site. However, with Domain Mapping set up, trying to go to andersoninteractivemarcom.wordpress.com is always going to point you to andersoni.com. You could reach your WordPress.com site content by going to WordPress.com —> My Sites or going directly to the classic “dashboard” here: http://andersoninteractivemarcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
