Hi there, http://slucherville.wordpress.com/ is loading fine for me but hasn’t been updated in almost 7 years. What is the URL of your website?
-
Actually, my site is slucherville.com.
I contacted 1&1 and they said it was a DNS issue.
-
Hi there, it seems that your domain is with WordPress.com and I’m not certain on this procedure, so I’ve tagged WordPress.com staff to help you with this issue. You’ll likely receive a response within a few hours from a staff member: https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question
Hope this gets resolved soon. :)

Hi there,
The domain slucherville.com expired in June and was removed from your account. If you’d like to restore it to your account to continue to use it with the domain 1&1 it can be restored. The cost to restore the domain will be the normal renewal rate plus an $80 redemption fee. If we are unable to restore the domain we’ll provide a refund.
To proceed with the redemption reply here and we’ll get the process started.

Thanks for the response. I don’t understand why the account expired. I’ve supplied a current email address and a credit account. I travel a lot for work, but I received an email on June 5 saying the account would be auto-renewed, and I didn’t think any more about it until emails stopped getting through recently.
I want to recover my domain slucherville.com, but don’t feel the $80 is fair.

I understand $80 is a lot, but that is what we have to pay to get the domain back. It could have been renewed at the original price for several weeks after expiration, but once it is removed from our system we have to specifically request our domain provider to restore it, and they charge an additional fee to do this. We are not able to waive this fee.

Thanks — I’ve sent a payment request to the email address on your Account Settings page. Once that has paid, I will start the recovery process by contacting our domain provider.
Please let me know if that doesn’t come through to you.

Great. I just sent a note to our domain partner. Typically it takes 2-3 days for us to hear back and as soon as we have news we will pass that along to you.

It looks like everything is back up and running. A final question: how do I transfer my URL “slucherville.com” back to 1&1, where it originated?
-
If you wish to transfer your domain 1and1, you can start the transfer process from My Site ->Domains:
