  i tried updating word press now my site says Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.

  Hi there, it looks like you are using WordPress but you are not hosted here at WordPress.com. These forums are for those hosted here at WordPress.com.

  For self-hosted WordPress sites such as yours, I would suggest asking for help in the volunteer-based WordPress.org forums.

  WordPress.com and WordPress.org are separate, so if you do not already have an account at WordPress.org, you will need to register.

  I see your site is up now. The Check back in a minute page is loaded while the update is in progress and will go away once the update is done.
