My Site is Missing
-
Hi,
I just logged into my WordPress account and when I click the “My Site” tab nothing is there and it says I do not have a site but I do. It’s missing and I have no idea why or what to do. Please help!
The site was for theargusimage.com/blog
I went to write a blog post to only find it gone and that I cannot log in.

No, the site is there but when I try to log into the site is where the problem is. I cannot log in because it says I do not have a site.

http://www.theargusimage.com/ is not hosted by wordpress.COM. we do not provide support for as it is not hosted by wordpress.com and our support docs do not apply to it. You are posting to the wrong support forum to get help with that site.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

It’s not for theargusimage.com it’s for theargusimage.com/blog which is hosted via WordPress

Normally I log into WordPress and go to admin and log in and my dashboard comes up. there is nothing coming up now at all and I cannot access my site to post

This is the wordpress.COM support forum and that that site is NOT hosted by wordpress.COM.
theargusimage.com is hosted by GoDaddy.com

re: Jetpack support
Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.me/support/
Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack
However, if you can’t find help at either one then you can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-serviceAlso note that for WordPress.ORG issues, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

Okay, theargusimage.com is hosted via Showit not Wordpess but theargusimage.com/blog (my blog) IS hoseted via WordPress.com
the website and blog are separate.
I cannot login to theargusimage.com/blog and I normally can. hat’s not the ip address I am having issues with and no longer use Go DAddy

http://theargusimage.com/blog/
The developer used Pro Photo for the blog if that helps at all

It does not help because that site is not hosted by wordpress.com. The bottom line here is that you need to post to the correct support forum for help. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

It’s not via wordpress.org though and I have always logged into wordpress.com for the blog so I guess I am unsure as to why it is showing up as not supported

The only way to log into any site that is not hosted by wordpress.com at wordpress.com is through Jetpack. When the Jetpack is connected the sites appear on the wordpress.COM MY Sites page.
Jetpack is a plugin used by WordPress.ORG bloggers to achieve parity with what we already have built in to WordPress.COM blogs.

Hi Brittney –
It looks like a couple of weeks you had gone in and removed yourself from the blog. That doesn’t seem like it should be possible, but it seems that’s what happened. I’m going to need to look into this a little more for you.
-
Brittney –
Here’s what I believe happened:
Your blog is using WordPress on a self-hosted site, (On GoDaddy?) but by using the Jetpack plugin, you were able to log into WordPress.com and update your site, so it seemed like WordPress.com was hosting the site.
At some point that Jetpack connection was disconnected, so that now when you log into WordPress.com, you’re not seeing the blog in your dashboard any longer.
What needs to happen is for you to get access back to that self-hosted WordPress install, and in the dashboard for that, in the Jetpack menu there is a big green “connect” button which you can use to log into WordPress.com and re-connect the blog so that you can update it from here.

Hello Bruce,
Yes that’s exactly what happened. I was able yesterday to log into Jetpack after many failed attempts but I am unable to install it again and I am not sure why. I figure there may be an old version somewhere on the back end but I cannot locate it and I cannot figure out how to re-install it. any suggestions for this would be most helpful. Thank you very much!

Hey Brittney –
As a first step to troubleshooting this issue, can you please try deactivating and deleting Jetpack entirely, and then trying to reinstall it?
If you don’t have access to your site’s Dashboard, you can delete the folder wp-content/plugins/jetpack via an FTP client, like Cyberduck (https://cyberduck.io/?l=en). (If you’re not sure how to do this, ask your hosting company for help.)
Some hosts also provide a hosting panel (like cPanel) that has a “File Manager” tool – this will also let you browse to the same folder and delete the “jetpack” folder.
After that’s done, you can reinstall Jetpack by following these instructions:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Managing_Plugins#Manual_Plugin_Installation
Let me know if that solves the problem. :) Thanks!
