My site is missing

    Hi, I have been trying to access my site onemindfullife.com, but it tells me this:

    Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.

    I own the domain which I bought through godaddy, and I created the website through WordPress. I don’t understand what is going on.

    Please can you help ASAP. I spent a long time designing the perfect site for myself and GoDaddy told me I need to speak to you, not them.

    Hi @emaglobyte,

    Just to clarify: Is the site also hosted through GoDaddy, or is it hosted with WordPress.com?

    If it is hosted through GoDaddy then you will be using WordPress.org software but not hosting with WordPress.com, in which case you’d need to head to the WordPress.org forums for help: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/.

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    If it is hosted with WordPress.com and you want the new domain name you bought from GoDaddy to now map onto your existing WordPress.com site (emaglobyte.wordpress.com) then it may help you to follow the steps detailed here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/.

    If problems persist after that we can get staff more directly involved.

    Any more questions, just let me know!

    Hope this helps! :)

    Hi Ema,

    onemindfullife.com is pointing to a site using WordPress.org software and hosted by GoDaddy:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    However it looks like the domain is being redirected to WordPress.com from GoDaddy’s side — so our system is looking for a domain mapping upgrade which doesn’t exist. This upgrade would only be needed if you wanted to connect onemindfullife.com to emaglobyte.wordpress.com (hosted on our servers).

    Sorry to send you back to GoDaddy again but if you wish to use the domain for the site they are hosting, please ask them to remove any redirects to WordPress.com and that should stop the error you are seeing.

    @happyvimes
    who.is is a handy site for checking where a domain is registered and who hosts a site. “domaincontrol.com” are GoDaddy name servers :)
