My site is not secured.

    Hello there!
I have very little idea what I’m talking about, so please bear with me. It was my understanding that all wordpress sites had an SSL security certificate, and that my hhtp site would redirect to the more secure https.
However, it appears that that is not the case. Can someone fix it for me? Or instruct me on how to fix it? I’d really like to have a secure site and for visitors not to get the security risk warning when visiting.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi there,

It seems that your site is not hosted on WordPress.com but a self-hosted site using the open source WordPress software.

    Name Servers
    NS1.DREAMHOST.COM
    NS2.DREAMHOST.COM
    NS3.DREAMHOST.COM

In order to have a secured HTTPS site, you need to install SSL certificates for your site. You may contact your web hosting provider for the SSL certificate purchase and installation. Some web hosting companies offer free SSL certificate for their customers, do ask them for that too.

Once you have the SSL certificates installed, you need to set up WordPress for SSL. Check out this guide.

For self-hosted WordPress questions, you’re recommended to post them at the WordPress.org forum and seek help from the experts and volunteer members there. You may need to register an account if you don’t already have one.

Please be informed that the staff and members of this forum could only help you out with support topics related to WordPress.com sites but not self-hosted WordPress sites as they’re separate entities and independent from each other.

    Hope this helps.
