My new site is set up as a blog when I want it to be a business webpage. How do I change it?
Back story:
I started a wordpress account for a blog back in 2008 and didn’t do much with it. Now, a buddy tells me that wordpress is the way to go for making business web pages, which is what I want to do. I go to wordpress, select ‘make a website,’ then pay for the premium package… at that point, I’m reminded that I already have the login info from way back in 2008. I go through the password reset song and dance, and because at that time I set it up as a blog, it switched my new site into the blog format of 2008. How do I get it to be a business website? -
Blog posts are set as the default for homepages on WordPres.com, but you can easily set the homepage as a static page in order for it to look more like a traditional business website.
Here’s instructions for setting a static homepage: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
You’ll want to explore themes to see what strikes you as a business website. Some themes are better for bloggers, some are better for showcasing photography, and some are better for creating more traditional websites, etc.
Here’s a link to themes: https://wordpress.com/design/
On that page, you can preview hundreds of themes. Once you’ve previewed and selected one that you like, make sure to set your homepage as static. Then you should have a business-looking website!

If you mean how do I create a website here http://juststartengineering.com/ then read on, please.
A blog is a website. The difference between blog and website is simply structure and semantics.
A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. As the posts are frequently updated and appear on the front page of the site it’s very attractive to search engines.
What most people call a website is merely a page based site that functions as a one-way noticeboard. As the structure is page based and as pages are for static content that rarely changes, and as pages do not have RSS feeds, and as others do not backlink to pages, it is not as attractive to search engines as a post based blog structured site is.
Any WordPress blog can be restructured from being post based to being page based – no upgrade required. For greater clarity read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/

Nothing Found
It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help. There is nothing wrong with your site. By default, the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post, not a page the front page error message and search box that appears on every new WordPress.COM blog will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
