my site is unresponsive

For about a couple of days my site have been alternatively unresponsive i.e. one minute is receive a notification indicating that my site is unresponsive the other minute its find all of a sudden. I may just be a bit paranoid but I at least know that something isn’t right. Also I entered the back-end of my website to check for any abnormalities but there was nothing wrong and I updated al my plugins. So I am just trying to figures out whats going on and would really appreciate the help.
