My site just disappeared

  I have not used this in a couple years – yesterday the auto save failed and I lost a ling blog – whatever, I can deal but this AM I was prompted to update a bunch of shit, which I did, now my site is an internal error
  I should be able to access at http://www.asphillseesit.com but it ain’t working – please advise

  I honestly don’t know what any of that means. I know my host is iPage. Are you saying it’s a hosting issue ? I mean it worked fine yesterday then I got a prompt to update my “php” whatever that means. After that. Poof. It was gone.

  Hi phillocs,

  There are two types of WordPress and it’s easy to get them confused!

  This forum is for WordPress.com users, meaning users whose sites are hosted with WordPress.com.

  WordPress.org is the open source software which in your case is installed on your host’s (iPage) server. That means only you and iPage can access your WordPress.org installation.

  PHP is the programming language that your WordPress installation is using on the server where your website is hosted.

  Unfortunately we can’t help you with your issue here at the WordPress.com support forum, but you can try in the WordPress.org support forum that obt28 linked to above, and surely your host will also be able to help you if you reach out to them.
