My site looks different with WordPress.com

    Hello,

I’m new to WordPress.com. My existing WordPress site is hosted privately with support from WordPress.org since 2009. I just downloaded the WordPress App to my iPad and registered. After doing that, I noticed my site has radically changed in look on my iPhone 4S . I can no longer see my scrolling banner and my scrolling marquee announcement. My menu system has bee changed completely and the background has changed. What is going on here? My site looked normal on the iPhone prior to creating an account on WordPress.com.

My site looks normal on my iPad 3. Can someone help?
    My website link: http://www.visions4.net/journal/

If anyone can check and tell me if they see the same thing, I would appreciate it along with suggestions to fix this. I’m thinking about completely un-registering my account but don’t know how to do that.

    Thanks in advance

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That is not a free hosted WordPress.com blog. We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs being hosted right here on this multiuser blogging platform. You are posting to the wrong support forum.

Here’s the link for the ios forum for the WordPress app so you can post there and make our WordPress developers aware of your issue.

WordPress.com and WordPress.org have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

I deleted my site in hopes that would solve my problem. But I still have access to WordPress.com I can view my stats, etc.

What I’m trying to say is, right after registering on WordPress.com, it asked to “add a site” I then added my private hosted WordPress site to WordPress.com. Then I noticed I could edit my pages on my private WordPress site on WordPress.com.

That’s when I noticed my site changed radically in appearance on my iPhone 4S. It looks the way it looks on WordPress.com, but It looks normal on my iPad 3 and i’n baffled as what happened. I had no problems whatsoever with my site until I downloaded the App for iPad.

Today I deleted my site from WordPress.com thinking that would correct the way my site looks on the iPhone, but that did not help. So I cannot log in unless I create a new account with new user name etc.

Strangely I have a second App to WordPress.com which allows me to view my stats, view my blog, see the forums, fresh WordPress.

Please see my above posts for the URL and what is wrong with the site. If someone has an iPhone and iPad to verify what I’m saying would be appreciated. http://www.visions4.net/journal/

I want to make it clear, I can still access WordPress.com and view my site and stats. I know the difference between WordPress.org and WordPress.com.

Thank you for any help to resolve this.

    Hi there,

I see that you’re using Jetpack for your WordPress.org site: http://jetpack.me/

Jetpack includes an option to use a mobile theme for your site, and right now you have the mobile theme enabled. If you disable the mobile theme, mobile devices will use your regular desktop theme instead. You can learn more about the mobile theme here: http://jetpack.me/support/mobile-theme/

Please let me know if you have any questions about that!

    rachelmcr,

Thank you very much! That solved my problem. I guess because of the mobile blue banner color , I equated it with WordPress.com. Silly me. :-)
