  Why is my site now with .wordpress on the end? I don’t want this

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi @iansaggers,

  If you want to alter the wordpress.com part of your site address, then you need to upgrade to a Custom Domain by visiting the Domains page

  Thank you. I’m new obviously and have no clue how to use this. My website is still active and hasn’t changed. I just seen to have 2 now?

  Do you mean that you have 2 websites now? One is optimisepcs.wordpress.com and what is the other one?

  Yes. Original was/is http://www.optimisepcs.info
  I can still access it.
  Then since I joined here I have the .wordpress.com also.
  I had an option to claim my own site which I did after entering the name of my business.

  So currently you have a self-hosted website (www.optimisepcs.info) which doesn’t seem to use the WordPress.org software at all (or am I wrong?) and another one on WordPress.com (optimisepcs.wordpress.com). What exactly would you like to achieve? Would you like to manage http://www.optimisepcs.info with WordPress.com, or would you like to point one domain to the other?

  Hi. Yes I’d like wordpress to manage optimisepcs.info.
  There’s no need for both.
  I thought when I joined wordpress and added the name optimisepcs, and when it came up “already exists” ” claim as your own” or something like that, that it would transfer. Sorry I’m not great at this stuff.

  Hi @iansaggers,

  Is optimisepcs.info using the WordPress.org software? If it does then you can easily move it as described here: Moving from a Self-Hosted WordPress to WordPress.com.

  If not, could you please specify what platform is used on optimisepcs.info.

  Since optimisepcs.info is not currently using WordPress here’s what I would recommend; buying the plan which meets your needs and building your site here on WordPress.com. You’ll need a plan to add your domain later and they add lots of great features to your site. You can get started with plans at:
  https://wordpress.com/plans

  Once that is finished you’ll be able to map your domain to your site with us by following this guide:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  After the domain has been added and is pointing to your site with us you may cancel your other hosting.
