My Site Page keeps hanging up on 'Unresonsive script'

  @schultetoolco we download data into your browser so the site will run faster, and that command just deleted it so it would redownload. I’m glad that worked for you! To clarify, though, is it still taking over 10 seconds to load, even after that?

  When I wrote last IE was much faster than firefox, by a factor of 2.

  But I just tested and it looks like IE and Firefox and they seem about the same. Honestly it seems both are a little slow. But I guess it’s okay.

  Thanks @schultetoolco, it should be pretty snappy. If you can give us a better idea of how long things are taking, etc, we can try to sort this out.

  I clicked “my site” and it took 8 sec to load the page in Firefox.

  Does that seem about right. It’s better than the 12+ seconds it was taking a few days ago for sure.

  Hey there, sorry to step away from this for a bit. I was digging and was briefly able to reproduce 8 second load times — not for the whole page but for the data on it. I can’t do that anymore. The page loads quickly, and all of the data is there within about 2 more seconds. Are you still having trouble there?

  Looks like about 4 second load time now. That seems pretty good.

  I wonder what was contributing to the slower times before and why it went away. Do you know what changed?

  Hi
  I’m having what I’m sure is the identical problem in Firefox- but only on my laptop, the desktop works fine. And IE is ok on the laptop.
  I’ve tried all the steps suggested (with no result) except the one that worked for @schultetoolco
  Could you help me with:
  indexedDB.deleteDatabase(‘calypso’)
  explain in easy steps how I can use this ‘in the console’. I’m new to WP and not too code savvy.
  Both devices running Win 10.

  Let me know if that does the trick.

  Thanks for the response.
  I have tried:
  forced refresh
  clearing cache
  clearing offline data
  Firefox and Flash are up to date

  The unresponsive script appears to be trying to load the latest post summary and gives :
  Script: https://wordpress.com/calypso/…on.cc5f9032c61638055711.min.js:18

  The debugger begins by showing code then says:
  ‘This source is black boxed: its break points are disabled, and stepping skips through it.’

  This only occurs on my laptop in Firefox (preferred browser). In IE the page loads properly.
  On my PC the page loads properly in Firefox.

  Any ideas please? Thanks.

  Yep, the Firefox-tools-page info answer seems to have fixed it. Thanks for that!
  I’ll wait and see whether that’s a permanent solution, but at least I’ll know what to try if it isn’t.
