When I create a new page I’m not able to click on the “visit page” link after I click on publish. I’m directed to a permalink page url of: https://signup.wordpress.com/activate/c49069d76d3e94d9/test-last/

On that page I get a message of: Invalid activation key.

I’ve never had this happen before.

I appreciate any help you might have on this.

I have another blog at wordpress.com and just created a new page on that blog and everything is working fine. The uptechtools.wordpress.com blog is a new account created today (created so that I could make some tutorials for students). Since it it redirecting to a “signup” url would it be possible to have a new activation key sent for this new account and see if that helps solve the problem? Just a thought. Not sure how to request a new activation key.

I work for a University and I’m using WordPress with students as a way for them to create their own site. This replaces an older Dreamweaver course which we felt was very out dated. I will be training several groups in the coming months and want to make sure this doesn’t happen for them and if it does what they need to do to fix things.

This appears to be a site wide issue given the number of bloggers who are creating multple threads on the same issue. All have been flagged for Staff attention. Please be patient while waiting.

There’s a wide-spread technical “invalid activation key” issue evidenced by the multiple active threads on the front page of this forum and beyond all reporting the same issue. All have been flagged for Staff attention. That’s what you need help with and I suggest taking a break for a few hours and return. Hopefully, Staff will have fixed this by then.

Someone posted that comment on my problem forum as well because you are having the exact same issue I was having. Hopefully WP will have this fixed soon

    Sorry for the trouble!

We identified and corrected the issue. The affected blogs are each being fixed individually.

If yours has not been fixed yet, it should be in a few hours.

We are already aware of all affected blogs, so there’s no need to post additional ones.

As mentioned, if yours has not been fixed yet, it should be in a few hours.
