Hi there,
Please share your site URL and make sure your site is hosted on WordPress.com.
If hosted on WordPress.org, you can post your question in WordPress.org forum:

Read the difference between .com and .org
Thanks.

Thanks. This is all very confusing. I have a wordpress.com account that my email is associated with but do not have a wordpress.org account (I cannot login and it doesn’t recognize the existing username for the .org). All I am trying to do is migrate my account from this .org to the .com. I follow the steps as in the article but when it comes time to import the xml, the site reverts back to the .org at import. Looks like the .com site is what I should have been on from the start and thats where I thought I was (it’s where I originally started from)..
Thanks -
Hi spritechaser,
Don’t worry, I’ll try and help you get on the right path.
but do not have a wordpress.org account (I cannot login and it doesn’t recognize the existing username for the .org)
The login details you are using for http://box5300.temp.domains/~spritech won’t work on the WordPress.org forums as they are specific to your user account on that site. You’ll need a free WordPress.org account to post on the WordPress.org support forums and if you don’t already have one, you can register here:
https://wordpress.org/support/register.php
All I am trying to do is migrate my account from this .org to the .com.
Your account hasn’t created any sites on WordPress.com yet, what is the address of the site you are trying to export from and import to?
the site reverts back to the .org at import.
http://box5300.temp.domains/~spritech uses WordPress.org software and is hosted elsewhere. However, the Jetpack plugin creates a connection between this site and your WordPress.com account. So although this site is listed in your WordPress.com account, it isn’t hosted with us.

So to start I believe I registered the site with bluehost then installed wordpress then ended up at wordpress.org. My goal is to just have the site at wordpress.com. It seems to be the best option for me being as I am not very tech savvy. My site will be mostly blogs and selling prints. Thanks

Hi there,
As @gemmacevans mentioned, you’ll need to create a WordPress.com site before you are able to migrate the site over from Bluehost.
Then, you’ll need to purchase one of our plans if you are wanting to use spritechaser.com with your WordPress.com site: http://wordpress.com/plans
After that, you can follow these instructions to migrate your site over from Bluehost:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-com
You’ll need to also transfer your domain over, or map the domain if you registered it within the last 60 days:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/Hopefully all of this helps. Let me know if you have questions on anything at all.
Thanks!
