My site/user name vanished!
-
I just purchased webhosting with WordPress literally 5 days ago and built my website. It was all functioning well until just a few hours ago. I tried to change my password under the Account Management page under ‘Users”, now everything is gone! Arggg! Can someone help? I tried the account recovery page but it says my Username doesn’t exist… yet have I have screen shots of it! What happened??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

one note, the url listed above “The blog I need help with is aptdev.wordpress.com.” is not the website I speak of. I’m not even sure what that is….. many years ago I made an account with wordpress. So I don’t know that that link is about. It’s not the domain I made 5 days ago.

Hi there,
The site at https://www.lifetapstudios.com/ is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but is using the open source WordPress software, made by the community on WordPress.org, at another hosting provider.
You can see that site under your WordPress.com account, because you have connected it here using the Jetpack plugin. But that plugin only allows you to manage certain aspects of your site via your WordPress.com username account. It doesn’t give us any direct control over your site, and we have no control at all over your user account for that site – that account is completely separate from your WordPress.com account.
You can see the password reset instructions for your version of WordPress at https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/
For more help with this, please ask the WordPress.org community for advice at https://wordpress.org/support/forums, or contact your hosting provider instead.
