    Hacked Sites

The only “hacked” sites I have seen here have been people getting the password somehow to a site so you do want to be careful how you log in and use a tough password.

You should also check to make sure that someone has not added a new user to your site. Problems have also happened when there was more than one Admin. and an Admin left on less than graceful terms.

    Dashboard >> Users

Many times a users email is hacked or the password guessed and the email account is used to get access by requesting a password reset – you need to change your email password and make sure they nobody has been added to your email account.

You should also run a virus check on you PC to make sure your PC does not have a security issue that has compromised your email or WordPress.COM log-in information (also your bank etc. if you do online banking or retirement accounts)

If you are really concerned you could as the staff to look at your site: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

You could also use a secure log-in in case you are on an unsecured link: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

And how many admins are there? And what kind of hack was pulled?

Always remember to log out of your account when you leave your PC especially if the PC is in a common work area where someone can get access to your computer

I have also flagged this for staff attention

We’ve been having an issue with duplicate blogs being created at signup. It turns out that this is what has happened to you. I have sorted things out for you. Please take a look and let me know if everything looks okay now.

    Hi Jackie,

Thanks for the note, but unfortunately the entire North B Street site, the one I inquired about yesterday, is now entirely gone.

I spent most of yesterday morning trying to recreate the site, and then when I was about finished it reverted back to the latest version that was last updated between 5:00 and 6:00 PM (Pacific time) on Friday, 1/24.

I logged into my account after receiving your note and it’s no longer there. So, I don’t know what happened, but I hope it is saved somewhere on WordPress’s servers and can be restored.

    Thank you,
    Rebecca

It’s possible your browser is trying to load the wrong site. You may wish to try clearing your browser cache, which should force the browser to reload your site and display it properly:

Please let me know if you have any other issues with this.

I don’t understand what’s happening with the site. When I view the site online without being logged in, most of the content is gone. When I log in and look at the html/backend of the site – the content is there. I click update and then preview page and everything is fine. But, it doesn’t seem to be displaying properly when browsing.

I believe I cleared out my cache and cookies.

    thank you

    Your site is definitely there:

(The screenshot is from Safari, which I don’t use daily, just to show that I am not viewing a cached copy myself. :) )

My guess is that for some reason your browser is still loading an incorrect version of your site. If you are having difficulty clearing the cache, you might try quitting your browser and restarting, or try a different browser, to verify that your site is indeed online.
