My site won’t open

  My blogsite amblingaroundtheglobe.wordpress.com has been up and working for several weeks. As of today ‘oops that page can’t be found’ pops up and it dosen’t open. This has been reported to me by others, it does open for me, but I assume that’s because I am the admin for the site.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  When I first visited the site in incognito mode, I received the oops message as well. Then, I checked again in a normal and private browser and can see your site just fine. I also checked in a different browser and was able to see the site.

  How long ago did other people report this issue? I would ask again and see if they are seeing the same thing.

  I’ve confirmed with others now, as of yesterday afternoon, that they still cannot open my blog. They all receive the same message, “oops that page can’t be found”. Thank you for any help you can offer.

  What link exactly are people clicking that leads to that error?

  If I view your site at https://darleneretirement.wordpress.com/, I see the latest posts.

  As of today, still no one can get into my site, they’re still getting the “oops” message. My site is not https://darleneretirement.wordpress.com/ (I would like to delete that one if I knew how, it has never been used). My site is amblingaroundtheglobe.wordpress.com/. I don’t know if they’re clicking that link in the initial email I sent to them, or if they’re typing the address in their browser, but in any case they’re unable to get to the site. Thank you for your help.

  Howdy!

  So, the issue appears to be that you have https://amblingaroundtheglobe.wordpress.com/ set to display a static page as the front page, but you have not chosen a static page in the site customizer.

  So solve this, head to:

  https://amblingaroundtheglobe.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php

  …and either choose a static page to use as the site’s front page, or switch to have the front page display your recent posts. You can find more information on front page options here:
