  I have a free account. I used to have a couple of ancilliary ‘sites’ where I kept information. I cleaned this down to two but now find I can’t add another. Is it now limited to two?

  Hi Dave,

  There’s no limit on the number of sites you can have in your account. But the djotoole account you used to post here only two sites with us, http://daveotooleblog.wordpress.com/ and http://daveotoolegardenblog.wordpress.com/

  It looks like you deleted two other sites in this account in January 2021, thechickenlittleblog.wordpress.com and organisingforbrexit.wordpress.com. If those are the ones you’re looking for, they’ve already been completely purged from our system, so cannot be restored any more.

  If you’re looking for another site, you likely created it under a different account. In that case you’d need to log in as the username that owns the site in order to access it.

  Hmmm.

  Yes, I know I had those two. I deleted them and have no further need for them. Thanks for looking though. :-)

  My point was that I created those because I had a need for them at the time. I now want to create a private “site” just like I did in the past. Somewhere to keep some information. But when I go to My Sites, Switch Sites, (+) add a new site it asks me Choose a domain ( URL). I don’t want one. It suggests “Get a free one-year domain registration with any paid plan”. I don’t want to pay. I don’t want a domain name. I just want to create one or more sites (one will do for now) in the form something like my main one. E.g. https://<i>daveotoolenotes</i&gt;.wordpress.com/

  There’s no button to skip past this bit. I’ve tried other browsers in case this is causing the problem. Does this make sense?

  So, can I have another site? What do I do?

  You need to choose a domain – either a custom domain or the free WordPress.com one – so you need to fill out the “choose a domain” part. Then you can choose the free domain as shown here:

  

  If you want a specific *.wordpress.com name, you would enter that in that field as well to see if the name is available.
