My sites have been hijacked

My sites have been hosted with wordpress since I can remember. Now neither of them will load and all of the pages for the one that I can actually login to have disappeared. The other site I can’t get into at all. In addition, I did a domain look up and it say they are being hosted by DigitalOcean. I have NEVER heard of them

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

  • Hey there, could you share links to the affected sites? I looked up beautyandwellnessdoc.com but it hasn’t been using our service. I sort of wonder if you’ve just been using the free WordPress software, or even our management interface, instead.

Also, FWIW I would take you link and immediately check it against dnshitory.org, which keeps historical data. It could show you the sites’ previous hosts and when those changes were made.

Thanks so much for the insight! What’s weird is I asked the previous developers and they said they’ve never used digitalocean. And I know for a fact that I was hosted on wordpress because I edited my pages through word press and I installed my facebook pixel through wordpress. For my sportsandwellnessdoc.com page which the wordpress login has completely vanished I also edited pages and installed facebook pixel through there. I have emails for both sites stating that the logins were updated in June and also back in August and September when the plugins were updated.

I reached out to digital ocean and they told me without the payment information they couldn’t help me at all. I don’t have any payment history info to provide them because I never authorized hosting with them.

I did follow the link that you gave to track the history of the site and it was like reading a foreign language.

  • If you want to share the link to the site, we can have a look at the “ns history” for you. That’ll be telling.

Also, WordPress is free code you can use at any host. A lot of hosts offer it, and even when they don’t, you can usually install a copy at most hosting companies.

WordPress.com is another managed hosting company. We have WordPress already set up for our users, and we manage hosting, support, maintenance, anti-spam, etc. So it’s entirely possible that you used WordPress without using WordPress.com.

Also, apologies for adding one more layer here, but WordPress.com also has a multi-site management tool that people can use whether the site is hosted here with us, or hosted through another provider. So it’s possible you were using that, too. We can check if you’ll send the URL.

None of this sites are running on the wordpress.com platform but are hosted by GoDaddy. You must contact GoDaddy support to solve this problem.

Sorry my fault! It’s not Godaddy but DigitalOcean support, https://www.digitalocean.com/products/support
