My Sites leads to Stats instead of SItes

Logically the My SItes link should lead to … sites. Not to the stats page. When I want to go to my sites I do NOT want to be catapulted back into the stats page. This is particularly annoying when one has chosen not to use the horrible “new and updated” stats page.

Logically My SItes should lead directly to SITES. I have five blogs and to get to them I have to click and clack all over the place. Any good website designer knows that requiring extra clicks is just poor design. What is the matter with WordPress. Every new “update” requires more clicks or scrolling.

And to force users back again and again to that Stats page is either poor programming or stubborness. and one goes back to the NEW stats. I don’t want to go back to any stats page when I’m clicking onto My SItes.

I suspect this is another tacky ruse to rack up numbers to support customer approval of the new stats page … if you have no choice and every link leads back to that stats page … well what do you expect?

To get into this movie you need to buy a ticket. Wow … 100% of the people inside the theater have ticket stubs.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

In the future we will be able to manage all WordPress.COM and all self hosted WordPress.ORG sites on the same page. This is an outworking going beyond JetPack and I suspect the set-up we see now will evolve, so that is why I do not think there is stubbornness and/or sneakiness going on. https://en.blog.wordpress.com/2014/12/16/dashboard-update/

I use the old stats pages links only. I never visit My Sites because I have no need to do that. What’s below came from my comments addressed to you in the Please Reinstate the Option of Choice to Use the Old Publishing Format thread.

If you go to the Classic Dashboard, and click the Site stats link there in the menu on the left hand side, you get to the Classic stats.

    2. https://wordpress.com/my-stats/ — “My Stats” was introduced about three years ago. Warnings that the older stats page would soon be eliminated came and went. And yet the old page standsl, working just as well as ever.

On my Classic Dashboard I clicked the screen options link in the top right hand corner of the page. Under “Show on screen” I clicked to include “Stats” and I have another handy way to get the classic stats display now. Maybe you ought to try those 3 suggestions that do work well for me out.

The question remains … why a My Sites link doesn’t just pull up a menu of my sites. It doesn’t matter whether you are in the Classic stats ( which is what I use) or the new Stats, that “My Sites” link simply leads you back to a stats page.

I want to see my sites …. be able to access the dashboard and get to work. Of course there are ways of getting back to a site. That’s not the point.

The My Sites link should lead to my sites. Then I choose one, click on it and get my dashboard and am ready to roll. Now I click on MySites and am on a stats page … have to locate the site I want from the menu and click onto that …

I already have the system worked out for myself. I have the classic stats bookmarked. I know all the work-arounds already. They’ve been repeatedly posted again and again in the forums.

The question is a confusing Link which is labelled “MySites” … but links to a stats page. I’ve been on WordPress for many years and I can find ways for myself. But I take the time to post here to discuss issues which may not be apparent to ALL users.
