My statistics aren't updating

Hi,
My views appear to be constantly stopping and starting and I have no idea why.
Today, they have regularly not updated properly, and it has been happening on and off all week.
Have you got any idea why?

Hi there,
Our stats are not real time stats and take time to update. There are frequent fluctuations that most do not notice because we aren’t watching the process. For details see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/ and note the views and viewers take hours to update.
Our stats are page view stats. But please do not assume that everyone who clicks a follow, like, share, reblog or comment link actually reads the post on your blog because odds are they may not.
Follow, like, share, reblog or comment clicks are not page views. In fact, follows, likes, shares, comments and reblogs are completely misleading when you are talking about page view stats.
Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com/Gravatar account who is logged into WordPress.com can “follow” your blog, “like”, “share” and “reblog” your posts and “comment” in several locations such as the Reader, without ever clicking into your blog and creating a single page view stat. Subscribers control how frequently they receive your posts (instantly, daily, weekly) and can comment without clicking into the blog.

You can control the length of the entry sent out on your RSS feed here Dashboard > Settings > Reading. Choose the “summary” setting for your RSS feed rather than to “full text”. That will compel followers who are not using mobiles to click into the blog to read the full post which will create a page view stat.
If you are sure your stats need to be investigated then you need to be specific and post details here so Staff know exactly which stats you are referring to when they get to this thread.
You can post screenshots and share them with Staff. You can use http://snag.gy/ to share screenshots. Or you can use the WordPress.com guide I linked to and upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it. Then type modlook into the tags in the sidebar of this thread for Staff attention.

I am 100% sure that my statistics aren’t updating, thanks to prior performance of posts that I have submitted, alongside the ranking of my posts on certain blog linking sites, such as NewsNow.co.uk
A lot of my traffic comes from the site mentioned above, and through twitter, with the analytics showing a distinct difference with WordPress numbers.
Having run the site since early 2012, i am extremely familiar with the sort of traffic I can expect from certain posts and over the last few days, they have been out of kilter with normal trends.
For example, a single tweet I sent out this morning is showing as having 340 link clicks from twitter and yet, the entire number of views from twitter since midnight is showing as just 72 on WordPress. This is simply not correct.
For my business, it is imperative that I know and am able to access accurate figures in relation to my views, and right now, that is not happening.

I would like to agree with the original post on here that there does seem to be something odd going on with the WordPress statistics. I write the Notayesmaneconomics blog and from lunchtime yesterday (UK time) there have been far fewer views on my blog.
This is odd as I have a solid and regular readership and because I was on Share Radio twice yesterday so I would expect more and not fewer views.
So I too would appreciate it of this matter could be investigated.

There IS something the matter with my stats. Typically the UK is the second or third largest source of traffic to my site. As people in other threads have mentioned, they are simply not showing up today. Have some UK ISPs banned Wp.com again or is something else going on?

There is definitely a problem. I have only a quarter of the hits yesterday I normally do.
I am not alone in this: a quick poll on Twitter turned up 3 more.
It would be great if someone could take this seriously, please.

Hello gracejiyoung, my stats are not updating either on http://sethdavidmiller.com. I know this because my stat counter says I only have 7 hits on my latest post, while the post itself shows that it has already been shared 23 times on facebook. Clearly, it had to have been viewed at least 23 times. I have screenshots as well but not sure how to upload them here. Please help! Thank you!

UK hits were substantially down yesterday as well, at 10. They would normally be significantly higher.
My total page view and unique visitor stats took an unexpected plunge today after climbing for several days. My UK stats are especially low for the past two days, though it looks like they’ve been decreasing in proportion of the total for at least a few weeks, perhaps more than a month.
But my UK stats have not completely disappeared: 1.9% yesterday, 4.2% today. -
However, I wouldn’t have suspected anything wrong, had I not visited this thread. The drop in the totals (page views and uniques) are within the range of normal fluctuation.

There is definitely something wrong with the wordpress stat counter at the moment – I have found that stats are working on and off intermittently. A new post would bring at least a couple of hundred views for me and wordpress was showing approximately 30. Based on this hunch, I installed stat counter. Since installing stat counter yesterday, it says I have had over 200 hits. WordPress counted another 64 in those same hours.

Also, I know that people have been accessing my blog via bloglovin over the last couple of days, yet wordpress shows that not a single view has come from bloglovin. Stat counter backs up that I had at least 10 clicks through bloglovin on the 4th December.
Please take this issue seriously as something is definitely not correct.

I have been having issues for the last 48 hours with UK stat’s not being correct. Usually the UK far exceeds Australia, NZ and USA figures but yesterday and today the UK ranking is lower, which is unusual for a blog about caravanning in the UK!

As a WordPress user for 5 and a half years, who pays for a number of extras (domains, space upgrades, no ads) it saddens me greatly that the first time I ever need an issue raised, first I’m belittled by a moderator and then techs appear not to be taking the issue seriously.
There is clearly a problem here. Can it please be investigated?
I am a local UK blog. This morning US hits currently outnumber UK ones – and by now I’d normally be clocking 300 or so. I’ve got 68.

Thank you for your help. However their plainly is something wrong with my stats and from the other reports on here it is clear to me that WordPress has an issue which seems based in the UK. I would be grateful if a thorough investigation could be made.
All of the reports start at the same time which is way too much of a coincidence.

I can confirm that there is a problem with UK stats updating. Please do not dismiss this with “a normal fluctuation of statistics” reponse.
