My Subscribers receive the whole post by email, how do I send only a portion?
-
I think many of my subscribers never actually visit my blog, because they get the entire post via email and read it that way. I’d like the emails to have only a portion of the post, with a link to click to read the rest. I’ve been searching and can’t find a setting that will change this, and haven’t found the answer in Support.
Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
This will do it.
> Settings > Reading
For each article in a feed, show
_Full text
_Summary
click “save changes” -
Thanks for responding… I have that set at Summary though, and it still sends the full posts in the emails.

I apologize for not locating the blog first and assuming you were referring to a free hosted wordpress.com blog when you weren’t. You are posting to the wrong support forum. This is a wordpress.org install http://pennellolane.com/ You must post to http://wordpress.org/support/ for assistance with that site as it’s not being free hosted by wordpress.com.
For clarity read > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ -

If you’re using Jetpack, you can use the more tag to make it so just a portion of the post is sent to email subscribers. See http://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/
