My subscription blocked for new followers

  • Unknown's avatar

    Good morning.

I received a feedback from a new follower that he could not subscribe to my blog because he got a notification that pending subscriptions on my blog must be activated or deleted first.

I don’t know how to reach my present followers and I need help as to figure out a way to deal with this so that I can have new followers to my blog.

    Thank you.

Generally when someone follows a blog they need to click a link in the email they receive, to confirm the subscription. You’ll find more info in these two links. Also, the second link has some troubleshooting info near the bottom of the page:

    https://wordpress.com/support/subscriptions-and-newsletters/

    https://wordpress.com/support/followers/

As for getting new followers, the best way is to find blogs you enjoy and comment on the posts you like most in them then, providing your name links back to your own blog, a lot of other commenters will click the link above your comment to look at your own blog.

  • Hi there,

If someone is unable to subscribe to your site because of a high number of pending subscriptions, it’s because they have a high number of pending subscriptions for their specific username/email address. It has nothing to do with your site, and won’t prevent anyone else from subscribing to your site.

That follower will need to check their own subscriptions at https://subscribe.wordpress.com and delete the pending (meaning they never confirmed them) email subscriptions for their email address before they can subscribe to any more sites.
