Hi,
The post name is “Five Environmental Portraits of Daniel Ye”
This is the link: VIEW POSThttps://scccmultimedia.wordpress.com/2021/11/09/five-environmental-portraits-of-daniel-ye-2/(opens in a new tab)

Hi, I tried that but it didn’t work on my side. The preview button didn’t work, either. When I click it, it didn’t show post view, but it only showed some choices of “desktop”, “mobile”, “tablets”, and “in new tab”, that is it. So weird.
-
-
Yep, those are your preview choices, specifically you can see how the post will look on desktop computers, mobile devices, and tablets.
-
yes, the preview button works now.
But when I aligned all tables center, they appeared when I clicked preview button, but some texts looked odd and not in a good line. and when I edited them in a good look, they disappeared again.

I mean the texts in tables are not in good order, but I couldn’t edited them, because they would disappear again if I edited them and it seemed that they were not easy to be edited.
-
Ah yes, that’s because essentially the table is too large for the content width in this theme, so it has to add some line breaks so it doesn’t just flow off the side of the page.
Try making the left column a bit wider, and give it more room by making the center and right columns narrower.

Hi there,
You can play around with the first column a bit by adding text or pressing the space bar to make the column wider.
However, the table block doesn’t truly have an option to manually adjust column widths. It will either adjust column widths automatically based on the content you add to the different columns, or you can set it fixed width, in which case all columns should have the same width.
More on the Table Block here:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/table-block/
You would need access to the CSS feature via the Premium or Business Plans to manually adjust the tables or the content width of the theme.
If you are interested in purchasing the Premium Plan, you’ll be eligible to receive support via live chat and our staff would be happy to further assist you with this.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
I tried to press the space button to move the first column right to make it wider. But it stilled looked the same after I updated it. The texts in the first column are crowded and width was very small. -
A space won’t add more width to your table. However, the issue will remain that you’re trying to fit a lot of content into a narrow content width in your theme. Additionally, that content will display differently based on the viewport of the device viewing the content and other things like text zoom, default browser text size, etc. It’s not like laying out a table in Word – the table will look different to everyone based on their device settings.
For example, this is what the table looks like for me: https://d.pr/i/7TL0nO
…which is less cramped than the example you posted above. Likely due to the difference in default browser text sizes.
You could try:
1. Instead of using a table, write out each row’s item as a header (for the things to consider and question) and a paragraph for the response.
2. Explore using a different theme that has a much wider content width that would allow you to post a table with a little more breathing room in each cell. You can see options for other themes here: https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/two-columns
Otherwise, you might want to try using a smaller font or other adjustments to give your table cells more space in your post.
