My tags are in the wrong place
-
Folks I’m very new here.
When I preview a post before posting it, my categories and tags appear at the bottom of my post.
When I actually publish it they appear right underneath the header (subject).
This adds unnecessary clutter and is an eyesore. I’ve been trying to fix this for more than an hour on my own.
my blog is at http://www.basecrawl.wordpress.com

Your theme is designed to show tags at the top of the post. Other themes show it at the bottom.
-
That’s the way your theme is designed. On the front page of your blog the tags and categories are listed just below the header. On the individual post page they’re at the bottom (and that’s what you’re looking at when you preview):
-
I don’t believe that’s correct. When I preview a post they appear at the bottom where I want them. When I publish the post they are moved to the top.
-
-
That’s because when you preview you’re looking at the post separately, as an individual post. When doing that, tags show at bottom. When you are looking at your blog, with more than one post on a page, tags are at the top. Once again, that’s how the theme, you’re using, works.

The only way to change that is to learn CSS, purchase the CSS upgrade, and change it there. Or you could just pick a different theme, for free.

what about when the tags start appearing all of a sudden in the same theme you have had for months????
-

I am asking the same as “mormonwomen”; why is the tags start appearing at the front page all of a sudden in the same theme I have had half a year?
And how do I remove them? -
-
We want the tags, of course, but not at the front page. I have chosen the “light” theme because the tags didn´t show up there. Yesterday, suddenly all tags, from the last 5 months was to see. There must have been some kind of an update made by wordpress, but have they really changed the theme?

Another wordpress page about the same problem:

Have you contacted support? Volunteers in the forums can’t do anything about the backend stuff.
-
No, not yet, – but maybe it is a good idea to do, now that I know that others have the same problem. Thank you for helping so far :-)

Tags have been added to theme locations where they were missing so that it’s consistent for all of the themes.
