my theme has been discontinued

  Hi, I’d like to update my wordpress but my theme has been discontinued. This is the message I got from the theme’s developer. Should I update my WordPress anyway, or just avoid updating entirely?

  Marika here from Pixel Union. Thanks for your patience and I’ll be helping you today!

  We have discontinued Pixel Union WordPress products and our support is limited to the theme documentation. The Rainer Theme Manual and Changelog are available for download here. The final Rainer version, v.1.1.5, was released in 2015.

  As Rainer might not be compatible with WordPress 5.5, I recommend reaching out to the WordPress Support Team to ask whether there were any updates that may affect the theme! You can request support here.
