My theme is gone and my widgets gone

  Has my site been hacked? My theme is gone. I tried to find a similar theme only to discover that my widgets and links are all completely missing.

  How and why?

  Hi, per our logs, you or someone logged in with your account changed your site’s theme from Twenty Sixteen 54 minutes ago.

  You can reactivate that theme from https://wordpress.com/theme/twentysixteen/

  Yes!

  I changed my password and used the restore theme link. Everything went back to normal as if it was never touched.
