my theme is outdated and I'm worried now
-
Twice this has happened, I’ve asked a question, a very friendly person responds and gives me direction and then this appears:
“Replies limited to Staff and User
Replies in this forum are limited to staff members and the user who made the support request at the moment.”
I am the User and there is no place to respond to the staffers recent comment.
I don’t mind if there is a limit to how many replies you can have (this has been 3) but cutting the user off is a bit abrupt ESPECIALLY when the staffer is apologizing for giving me the wrong information…..
MY QUESTION: when the staffer was correcting the info she gave me she said in passing that my theme, Vigilence, is (I forgot the word used but the gist is that it is outdated). I was going to ask if I should transfer my blog format to a theme that is current and supported.
Thanks -
Howdy Megan,
There is no limit to the number of times you can reply to a thread — we want you to get the support you need! Is it possible you’re not yet logged into your WordPress.com account when trying to respond, so you don’t have access to your private threads?
If that’s not the case, and this happens again, can you make a screenshot of the screen where you’re seeing this error? You can find instructions for making a screenshot here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/Once you have the screenshot, you can upload it to your Media Library and copy and paste the link into this thread (or, if you can’t access this for some reason, a new one — we’ll be able to see it in your history).
To answer your main question, as a Theme Wrangler, I may be a little biased, but I definitely recommend updating your theme to something current. Vigilance has been retired — you can still see it and use it, but it will not be updated to work with the most current WordPress features (like Post Formats, from your previous thread).
I hope this helps!
Cheers,
Caroline
